“A Sight For Sore Eye"

Short Film Jan - Feb 2020 Director: Leonard Corfu DoP: Eric Parchment Production: Parkar Productions

I was the Production Designer and Set Decorator on this Short Film about a thief and the blind kid he meet in the house he is robbing.

The lm was shot on location in a newly refurbished modern house.
The design mostly consisted in Set Decorating each room accordingly to the script: an open plan kitchen, a living room, two bedrooms and an o ce.

The room that required the most work was the kid’s bedroom which, after proper researches, I decorated using different textured and bright coloured lights.

This is the bedroom of a visually impaired kid, and after researching and speaking to the actor’s mother, who is blind in real life,

I chose foiled curtains, glow in the dark bedsheets, bright coloured lamps, and neon fairy lights in the shapes of planets and astronauts.

The goal was to create a realistic space that a visually impaired person would be able to appreciate, seeing the bright lights and touching the di erent textures and shapes.
I also wanted to make the actor feel comfortable in the space, avoiding anything that could have disturbed him.
